Canada and Prince Edward Island support investment in Montague Curling Club ahead of 2023 Canada Winter Games

THREE RIVERS, PEI, November 19, 2022 /CNW/ – Today, the Honorable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence; the Honorable Cory DaigleMinister of Transport and Infrastructure, and Thomas Annearpresident of the Montague Curling Club, announced more $264,000 in joint funding for the modernization of the Montague Curling Club in Three Rivers.

The funding announced today will improve the building’s accessibility features for all users ahead of the 2023 Canada Winter Games. Improvements include the addition of a ramp at the entrance, improvements to the rear exit as well as the addition of a new elevator. The funding will also support upgrades to the facility’s ice-making equipment to ensure athletes have access to safer and softer ice conditions.

When complete, the facility will provide a welcoming place for athletes and visitors and encourage residents to stay active for generations to come.
