CIMA appoints a new Deputy Director of Investments

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA”) recently announced the promotion of Ms. Gaone Dube from Chief Analyst to Deputy Head of the Investment Supervision Division, effective early this year.

Ms. Dube is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and holds the designation of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Additionally, she is a member of several organizations including the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants and 100 Women in Finance.

Ms. Dube has over 19 years of experience in the Cayman Islands financial services industry. Before joining CIMA in 2018, she held a position in an audit firm before becoming deputy head of the Funds division at a leading fund administrator.

In her new role, Ms. Dube will work closely with the Head of the Investment Supervision Division, Ms. Heather Smith, in the authorization and supervision of regulated hedge funds, private funds and fund administrators.
